Slovak Paradise – Prielom Hornádu
Frozen unique beauty in Slovakia
Prielom Hornádu is canyon 16km long which is located in eastern
part of Slovak national park called Slovak Paradise. When tourists visit Slovakia, they usually
visit only its capital Bratislava and if they have more time, they sometimes go to High Tatras. Those places are very beautiful indeed, but mainly known thanks
to media. It is a pity that a lots of places in this hidden heart of Europe
remain unknown and when you come there you can hear slovak, czech and
sometimes hungarian or polish languages and that is it, there are no people from western Europe, Asia, America. Why not? We are not sure why but want to change it!
That is why AvenTouro wants to show you also the beauty of places which are not very known but still worth visiting!
During the summer this area is very gorgeous. If you don't like monotonous trails, you will definitely
love this place!
It is needed to cross through 7 bridges, 130 ladders and about 70 meters of wooden footbridges. There are approximately 320 meters of chains that will help you in this adventure. The difficulty of this trail is suitable also for kids, you just need to have a bit of courage and shoudn't be scared of heights. Even though it is still worth to go even if you are scared because that feeling when you go out of comfort zone is undescribable and you will be proud of yourself.
When Prielom Hornádu is frozen and you can walk on the river!
As a global warming is likely reel, the river Hornád doesn't freeze over every year, so when we heard that it was frozen again and saw the pictures how this scenery was completaly stunning, we had to go there no matter what.
We live in Brno in Czech Republic, 500 km from Slovak Paradise, but we couldn't miss it , this phenomenom is so unique!
You can walk on the frozen river the whole time, you see around you beautufil sceneries of frozen waterfalls, icy stalactites and stalagmites and other breathtaking creations of our mother nature.
It was a good decision to go there we talked to ourselves after amazing day spent in the nature.
We were so amazed by this Slovak national park that we decided to start organizing outdoor trips from April 2017.
As eastern Slovakia has so much to offer, we are organizing
there 3-day trips (2 nights). We would like to show you not only Slovak
Paradise but for example Košice, the second largest city in Slovakia, or Spiš
castle and many others. The program is going to be publicly announced in February :-) Stay tuned our nature-lovers! :)
